The wall says it deliberately avoids coloured hold circuits dictating the grade because that limits variation; instead difficulty is carried on the tag and hold colour only shows the line of the climb. It also runs community route setting sessions where members learn the basics and permanently set their own problems.

How they grade

Gradeless in-house system adopted in Autumn 2022: difficulty is shown by the shape on the tag, and the more sides the shape has the harder the climb. Hold colour indicates the line of the climb only, not difficulty.
