Who we are

No cookies, no analytics, no tracking

This site sets no cookies and loads no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. We do not know who you are, and we are not trying to find out.

What actually happens when you use the site

• Reading pages. The site is served by Cloudflare, our hosting provider. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes the technical data a request contains — your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser's user-agent — to deliver the page and defend against attack. We do not export, analyse or join those logs to anything.
• The logbook tool. Everything you enter is stored in your own browser's local storage. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, and clearing your browser storage removes it entirely.
• Live conditions and weather. Conditions pages fetch weather data fromOpen-Meteo directly from your browser, so your IP address is visible to that service — as it is to any website your browser contacts. We send it nothing else, and no identifier of ours travels with the request.
• Email. If you email us — a correction, a takedown request, a wall claiming its listing — we hold your address and what you wrote for as long as it takes to deal with, plus a record of what we changed and why. We do not add you to any list.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of any personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our processing, or complain to theInformation Commissioner's Office. In practice, unless you have emailed us, we hold nothing that identifies you. Email hello@climbindex.co.uk and we will answer within a month.

Changes

If we ever introduce analytics, advertising or anything else this page does not describe, we will update it before the change goes live, not after.
