Auchinstarry Quarry

Dolerite Faces NW trad S to E4 6a

A flooded dolerite quarry beside the Forth and Clyde canal at Kilsyth, the central belt's favourite evening crag. Clean-cut cracks, grooves and walls up to 25m rise straight from landscaped paths, giving well-protected trad climbing minutes from Glasgow. The quarry pond and picnic benches lend it a friendly country-park feel.
